Job Description:• Maintain national and international conservation standards to ensure that all stakeholder interests are protected and that the ring-fenced Business Unit of organisation is well governed, financially sound, operationally efficient and sustainable for present and future generations.
• Develop and approve Strategic Conservation agenda for the organization.
• Strategic business development and planning
• Manage stakeholder relations and Improved Service Delivery
• Oversee that the organisation’s Brand; Marketing and Communication plan correctly positions the organization.
• Effectively deliver speeches and addresses at provincial, national and international events.
• Integrate organisational Structure and operational capacity
• Ensure values based Business Unit, and Operational Optimisation
• Optimise Business management and performance
• Ensure the sustainability of the organisation through sound financial management and good corporate governance principles and legislative compliance
• Attract, develop, motivate and retain employees
• Ensure the development of effective policies, business processes and systems; develop an unforgettable visitor experience; to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation.
• Provide the organisation with the required direction, leadership and guidance for the development and implementation of a long term Conservation strategy and annual business plan.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Hons degree in zoology, wildlife biology, animal science or related field;
• Valid SA Driver’s License
• A Masters’ degree in related field or business degree (MBA) preferred
• At least 5 years proven track record as a successful executive manager/CEO in a similar environment (Non-Profit/ Zoological Park), able to drive and advocate transformational change.
• Proven track record as a strategic leader with the ability to unite employees around a common goal to deliver high performance.
• Sound experience and proven track record in fundraising campaigns, individual and legacy gifting, corporate sponsorships, development of grant solicitation and planned giving
