The project is still in showcase mode, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the initial conception and initialisation ultimately you will play a core part in one of the first major DevOps projects on this scale in South Africa.
Client are after strong Software Engineers who can:
Show technical adaptability;
Display significant achievements within their current technical choices;
Learn new tech quickly;
The client will consider people whom are:
Already proficient in a major OO language C#, Java, J2EE or even Rails etc;
Have actively pursued other languages outside of their core skill areas ideally open source or cloud;
Have strong Web Based skills already;
Have some knowledge of Azure or Amazon EC2 tech even if its in your own time.
The role also calls for:
Theoretical understanding of DevOps;
Theoretical understanding of large Cloud based delivery;
At least research knowledge of Chef and/or Bamboo;
A good knowledge base of Agile delivery.
Client are willing to consider people who have built strong careers already but do not have commercial experience of Dev-ops/Cloud based tools although you must be able to demonstrate significant personal knowledge in these areas. It is essential that you can show the ability to learn complex tech; client understand that because the ideas and concepts they wish to deploy are so new, they will have to train people.
