Process Engineering

Professor/Associate Professor: Chemical Engineering

The Department of Process Engineering offers an outstanding undergraduate programme in Chemical Engineering and undertakes innovative research in the areas of Bioresource Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, Separations Technology, Waste Valorisation and Water Technology. The Department wishes to appoint an academic who can provide a strong leadership contribution to the Bioresource Engineering group.

Duties:

- Undergraduate teaching;
- Providing academic guidance to and managing a research group;
- Contributing to the management of the Department;
- Conducting research and technology transfer in Bioresource Engineering for industry and the broader community.

Requirements:

- An internationally accredited Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with an excellent academic record;
- A PhD in Chemical Engineering;
- Compliant with criteria for registration as Professional Engineer;
- A proven record of quality undergraduate teaching in chemical engineering;
- A proven research career of international stature with publications in international journals;
- A substantial track record of successfully initiated and completed research projects, including fundraising to sustain and advance a research group;
- Successful postgraduate supervision at PhD level;
- Substantial applicable experience in Bioresource Engineering at management level;
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership qualities.

Commencement of duties: 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter
