Provide processor normalization factors for use in calculating processor consumption. Notify the Tool Support team of defects in their product, and assist them as necessary to confirm the defect and verify proposed corrections/patches.
Participate in customization and maintenance of standards.
Performance and Capacity Management tooling.
Recommend corrective actions to resolve capacity problems and prevent possible future incidents.
Provide modelling analysis for processor upgrades, new workloads, and growth projections
Produce monthly capacity analysis reports for monitored resources.
Provide analysis of server resource utilization exception reports
Specify metric collection and retention requirements
Monitor effect of tuning changes and analyze the results of changes implemented
Investigate incidents and problems affecting capacity and provide input and findings to the Root Cause Analysis process
Implement/request performance changes as approved through a formal change management process
Evaluate planned changes from a performance perspective for identifying and avoiding potential performance
Recommend and/or create change records as required to maintain established system / subsystem performance service
Take ownership of problems / changes assigned to Performance Management
Prepare and distribute monthly capacity reports clients.
Provide recommendations on expected resource usage for new projects (application sizing).
Develop annual capacity plans, considering business plans, for clients.
Provide recommendations of future capacity based on the annual plan.
Provide input to budgetary process based on capacity plan.
Report performance against SLA
Ensure that proper tooling is in place to provide capacity management statistics
Ensure that the proper end to end Capacity Management process is followed per ITIL principles.
Stay aware of industry trends and its impact on capacity management.
Minimum of 4 years within a Capacity management role
ITIL Certified
Good verbal and written skills
Solid analytical skills
Solid client relationship skills
