My client is looking to employ above average software engineers who will be introduced, trained and skilled into a Financial Services Software Engineer on the Calypso Trading Platform.• The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following (but not be limited to):
• · Assist with technical requirements gathering and solutions design
• · Assist with compilation of technical specifications
• · Assist with architecture and software design
• · Implement customizations and extensions to vendor or in-house systems
• · Analytical ability to diagnosis, problem solve and suggest resolution of issues
• · Assist with architecting and implementing integrations between different systems
• · Optimizations and enhancements of current systems
• · Daily business application support when required
• · Report design and development
• · Vendor system upgrades – Analysis, problem finding, solution building, test procedures etc
• · Compilation of support documentation upon completion of a specific implementation
• Minimum Requirements
• · Maths, Computer Science or Engineering degrees preferred. Honours or Masters beneficial
• · Exposure to the following technical and architectural components will be beneficial: Java EE, Oracle, Sybase, XML, UML, JBoss, GIT
• · Strong analysis skills across functions
• · Desire to grow as a Software Engineer within the Corporate and Investment Banking sector and evolve into different technical roles over time
• · Desire to work in a Professional Services environment as a Consultant
• · Excellent writing and presentation skills.
• · Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style.
• · Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new and radically changing environments
