Job Title:Infrastructure Engineer Network Area: Johannesburg Salary: Market Related Responsible for providingspecialist, high-level technical advice and support for all aspects of the day-to-day operation ofthe business unit’s networks (data, voice, text, email, facsimile and image) including theresolution of network problems, production of network performance statistics, provision of networkdiagnostic information, network security, and site surveys and repairs in accordance with IT policyand standards. Unit Network Routing and Switching Plan Understand and provide input to the ITbusiness plan Align Technical direction (equipment) to Group IT objectives Develop plans for thenetwork routing and switching road map for the business unit Compile project plans and milestonesfor the implementation of components and systems Align the Business unit data center with Grouprequirements Communicate to relevant stakeholders in IT and the business with regards the server andstorage virtualization plans for the business unit  Stabilized Routing and Switching Environment Assume the responsibility as the network owner at a unit level Conduct repairs and installation ofcomponents Testing of the network Detect and respond to network and network component technicalproblems Make recommendations on network components or equipment to improve system performance Actas a subject matter expert for the resolution of technical issues related to the network for thebusiness unit Escalate any issues that cannot be resolved to The client  Software Asset &Configuration Management Consult with stakeholders and obtain sign off on system changes Approveand plan changes or configuration requirements Monitor process to ensure no unapproved changes aremade Identify issues and challenges with software configuration Identify risk areas Conduct qualityassurance on work performed Project manage changes Conduct post implementation reviews  Workconditions and special requirements Local Travel May be required to work overtime in line withoperational requirement  Role Description

Skills and Experience
