Role details:
Job Purpose-Responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of Production enterprise databases in multiple highly available, mission critical environments.
Support and provide for the ITC Infrastructures Development, QA/UAT, and Production data server environment containing a very high volume of data for trading and reporting
Responsible for installing, upgrading, and maintenance of Sybase, Oracle, and Microsoft data servers on Sybase and Oracle environments, respectively.
Responsible for troubleshooting and correcting database issues in an efficient and timely manner mitigating all risks and ensuring uninterrupted continuation of the business flow
Work closely with all functional groups to assure a smooth implementation and to insure compliance with all corporate adopted system standards and directions.
Responsible for ensuring databases meet security best practices including compliance, credit card and privacy standards.
Document and enforce all database architecture and relevant procedures according to established standards.
Experience
qualifications and other requirements specific to the role-Minimum 5 years experience in Oracle Database Administration in large multi-server, highly available production database environment.
At least 2 years experience as a DBA in a large database environment.
High availability database architecture experience with Oracle databases, including Oracle Real Application Clusters RAC or other database clustering experience
At least 5 years experience in a 24*7*365 production environment.
Experience in the financial / banking services industry is an advantage.
Experience with relational databases is required.
Work experience in diverse technological environments including data and process analysis and modeling, logical database design, physical database design and implementation.
Knowledge and Expertise
(relating to specialist knowledge and expertise required to undertake the role. May include knowledge of the Banks products, services)-Knowledge of all database related security.
Knowledge in configuring and designing databases.
Knowledge of client server related databases and functionality
Extensive knowledge of database languages that support major business applications.
Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring and alerting is a plus.
Strong knowledge of distributed database concepts and design.
Knowledge of n-tier architecture, cluster and database connectivity issues in a client/server environment.
Solid knowledge of diverse data administration methodologies, database technologies, tools, and alternatives.
