Build knowledge competence and functional configuration ability to implement and support countries across the Standard Bank Africa Group, utilising the Core Banking set of products and principles.
Requirements gathering, design and review of the Solution Documents.
Gathering and defining Business Parameters for configuration of the Core Banking Solution.

Purpose of job:

Assist the Functional Lead with implementation by identifying and quantifying opportunities and problems, through critical analysis of the business environment, utilising the standard model of implementation developed by the Core Banking division.
Execute new functional design, global and country specific configuration as it relates to Operations Management across PBB and CIB. Control the country specific configuration as it relates to Operations Management.
Undertake Business analysis in functional design and configuration effort during the software lifecycle of the project as related to Operations Management. This must be done using practical business solutions, structured processes and sound business analysis techniques and methodologies.
Provide support to ensure that solutions are successfully implemented across Africa, and meet client and business requirements.
Motivate and coach less experienced team members, assisting with individual, portfolio and divisional growth and development.

Provide implementation and go-live support

Qualifications:

A related tertiary qualification is an advantage

Experience required:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience on large and medium projects, using a formal methodology such as RUP/UML, within operations project environments.
Proven track record in the definition of business cases, business requirement documents, gap analysis documents
Preparation of functional requirements specifications and assisting in the conversion of these into technical specifications
Interpret interface specifications and architecture diagrams
Involvement in the testing process from requirements, test cases, through to verifying the expected results

Knowledge Competencies:

In depth understanding of Operations (BOP reporting etc.) across PBB and CIB environments.
A sound business/industry understanding of financial services
Business process re-engineering skills
Facilitate business-oriented workshops, gathering business information from business representatives.
Good understanding of banking practice in general.
Understanding of best practices
Detailed understanding of systems development life-cycles
Knowledge of formal project management methodologies & disciplines
Systems integration knowledge
Understand architectures and interfaces and Business Transaction layers
Must be proficient with Word, Excel, Project and Visio
