One of the big four banks is searching for a Event Projects Manager to manage the implementation of all marketing activities and event planning activities. This is a great opportunity to showcase your event planning skills and let your creativity determine your success.

Duties:

Project managing the implementation of all event marketing activities
Ensure event strategies are successfully executed across business units.
Providing professional and effective event planning and project management service to business units
Ensure delivery of high quality functions to support business strategies and reinforce brand image.
Translating business requirements into eventing specifications –
Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with business and suppliers.
Develop comprehensive operating plans and budgets for each event project and ensure communication and implementation of overall event marketing plan.
Compiling and maintaining event calendar for individual business unit/s portfolio.
Conducting relevant research (brief and budget, review of best practices, and debrief analyses).
Co-ordinate the design and production of all eventing materials
Ensure the relevant and required approvals are obtained to ensure initiatives meet all stipulated requirements
Ensure that all artwork is in line with Marketing and CI guidelines
Manage the performance and reimbursement of outside vendors through concise and effective briefing, effective budget control
Ensure seamless communication process occurs for and to all stakeholders (includes brand, product and segment teams) through all phases of the project
Ensure that preferred suppliers are contracted to execute event plans for quality and consistency of events hosted within group
Co-ordinating all meetings/interactions with business units, internal and external suppliers and any other key stakeholders
Manage all services relating to contractors and suppliers
Management of the overall eventing operation through the efficient co-ordination of the some to all of the following areas –
Sourcing of entertainment
Sourcing of venues
Guest lists
Décor
Catering/menus
Gifts/promotional giveaways
Registration
Branding
Technical aspects – staging, PA systems, lighting.




The incumbent will be required to travel to various events locally and occasionally internationally.
 Frequency will be dependent on marketing strategies and event.
The incumbent is required to manage substantial duties outside normal business hours.

Planning:

Planning is a critical component of event management. The successful outcome of an event can often be directly attributed to planning and timing.
Planning elements of event management –
Managing event planning schedules
Feasibility studies
Identifying event goals and verifying objectives
Event organisational charts
Duty rosters
Record keeping mechanisms
Resource/recruitment
Reviewing event contracts and agreements
Troubleshooting event co-ordination
Creation and presentation of proposals to clients
Crisis management planning
Interaction with Executive level on planning of certain events

Candidate Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Marketing (IMM) or Event Management or equivalent diploma
Approximately 3-4 years’ experience in marketing communications role focusing of the implementation of action plans.
Significant exposure to event management and activation
Must have had project management experience
Basic business acumen and financial budgeting skills
Excellent customer and delivery orientation
