UWC’s Information and Communication Services (ICS) Department has embarked on an exciting journey of change and transformation, playing an important role in delivering technology services that enable and support the University’s goals and objectives.

In line with growing its capability, an exciting opportunity for an experienced .Net Developer is available in the ICS Applications Support unit.

The .Net Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining solutions in a collaborative environment. This successful incumbent will work with a team of experienced analysts, developers and business resources to build high?performing enterprise systems that improve clinical outcomes and increase staff productivity and financial performance.

Key Performance Areas:

- Maintain and extend the existing suite of C# applications
- Analyse requirements from business, design solutions, develop, test and deploy
- Investigate and resolve support calls to user satisfaction within agreed SLAs
- Participate in a small, energetic team on a rapid, agile development schedule
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge in presentations and workshops
- Ensure the building of successful SharePoint applications
- Review sites for excessive complexity and suggest streamlining to business
- Identify new areas on an ongoing basis where SharePoint can be leveraged
- Keep up to date with industry trends using the Internet, attending forums and from other sources

Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
- 7 years of experience developing applications using object oriented languages
- 2 years using C# on Windows
- Web development using ASP.NET
- VBScript
- Visual Studio
- Team Foundation Server
- Relational database experience
- Experience building multi?tier enterprise applications
- Experience in Scrum or Kanban methodologies
- Self?motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team –player
- Effective scheduling and time?management
- Production of quality documentation
- Ability to learn new concepts and technologies
- Experience with service?oriented architectures

Advantageous:

- Microsoft SQL Server
- Oracle
- Business intelligence trends and tools
- Mobile app development
- Exposure to latest trends in SharePoint
