(WebSphere Business Process Manager – Lombardi/BPMN-Engine)

This role can be seen as the technical owner of the WebSphere Business Process Manager – Lombardi/BPMN-Engine technologies in the bank.?The role will be responsible for the technical positioning of the above technologies in the bank, and will be required to influence, sell and communicate, the business and technical value proposition of the technologies involved in the SME’s domain to the organisation (e.g. Business users, Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architects, Project Teams, Developers, etc.)?This will require good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal departments, business users, vendors, suppliers of technology components, as well as their partners.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
To drive the enablement of the technical WebSphere Business Process Manager – Lombardi/BPMN-Engine technologies in the bank.
To influence, sell and own the technical technology strategy for WebSphere Business Process Manager – Lombardi/BPMN-Engine as part of Enterprise Architecture.
To work across internal and external organisational boundaries and leads, directs, coordinates and drives the technical technology roadmaps and technical implementation initiatives between all the relevant stakeholders in Nedbank (e.g. Enterprise Architecture, Project/Development Teams, Support Teams, Operational Teams, Vendors, 3rd Parties, etc.)

To design, develop and lead the technical architecture of the WebSphere Business Process Manager – Lombardi/BPMN-Engine technologies (e.g. Positioning Papers, Reference Architecture, Technical Integration Architecture, Application Architecture, Development Architecture, Deployment Architecture, Runtime Architecture), within the context of the organisational technology and architecture strategy.
Be able to work with technology vendor’s technical laboratories, technical architects, specialist and innovation centres (locally and globally) to understand the vendors’ technical product roadmaps, planned product features, technology direction changes, market forces, etc.), in order to position the impact of such changes and vendor products progression on all stakeholders in Nedbank, and to devise relevant technical implementation/adoption strategies and roadmaps, for approval by the Nedbank Governance Boards

To provide and establish management practices and toolsets in order to sustain Service Level Agreements within the Support areas.
To identify and resolve most complex technical issues related to SME’s domain of expertise. (E.g. final point of resolution before consulting externally).
To architect and provide the related technical development toolsets, processes, patterns, technical training and documentation (e.g. training material, cookbooks, etc.) to be used by the development teams.
Documentation of all processes, procedures and standards that enable the specific technology or product is maintain and communicated.
To provide technical consulting, guidance, advice, technical “know how” and expertise to Enterprise Architecture, Project & Development Teams and Operations and Support.

To act as the technical owner of the technology in the bank. This includes:
Impact analysis, upgrade strategies, coordination and positioning of technology upgrades, application of patches/service packs to the technologies, between the key stakeholders in enterprise architecture, development areas and the operational environment.

Assist project teams in designing and developing optimum solutions that meet both business and technology requirements with consideration to performance, cost, sustainability, capacity, ROI, etc.
To assist with the development of the relevant skill within the organisation and acts as a skills mentor.
To play an active role in development governance processes that relates to the use of all facets of the technology in Group Technology, and in the wider Nedbank.

To be in command of the following technology elements of the WebSphere Business Process Manager – Lombardi/BPMN-Engine technologies:
Deep knowledge and practical skills on inner/detail working of the technology on a technical level
Deep knowledge and practical skills on the development patterns applied with the technology
Deep understanding of the required development tooling that are required (e.g. development tools, IDE’s, configuration management tools, versioning strategies, build & deployment tools, etc.)
Good understanding of operational/runtime requirements required by this technologies (e.g. security consideration, firewall requirements, clustering, load balancing, operational monitoring, operational management, caching, management tools/dashboards, etc.)

Educational Requirements:

6 -10 years minimum with 4 years qualification/ certification or equivalent experience
Advance/SME knowledge on the specified technologies and products (Hands-on Technical Subject Matter Expert)
Proficient knowledge of interfacing technologies
Accredited where formal expert certification on technology is available FPL or equivalent
8 - 10 years’ experience in an IT environment of which at least 2 years in a senior role from feeding career streams and at least 3-5 years specialisation in a specific product
Understand Nedbank IT strategy and the impact of technology/product usage on Technology and Business strategies.

Skills Requirements:

Specialist, ‘hands-on’-expertise, knowledge and proven experience of WebSphere Business Process Manager – Lombardi/BPMN-Engine is essential for this role – Expert Level.
Strong technical background (‘hands-on’)
Solid understanding of the BPM-discipline (e.g. Problem solving practices (e.g. Lean Sigma, Six Sigma, BPM-Concepts, BPM-modelling requirements, Process Maps, Business Process Management notation, etc.)
Solid practical experience on modelling notation (BPMN & BPMN2). ARIS integration experience will be an advantage.
Strong practical development experience with business process management technologies, on the IBM BPM Lombardi platform (Process Improvement Lifecycles).
Strong practical integration experience of BPM-technologies into the technical environment (e.g., Input Management, Services Integration, Enterprise Content Integration, Security, etc.).
Solid understanding of the SOA and Application Integration challenges in a big corporate environment
Strong practical development experience with business rules development technologies, including business rules management domain knowledge.
Strong practical integration experience of business rules into IBM BPM (Lombardi) (business process and business rules integration).
Strong application development or programming background (Java preferred) would be advantageous.
Solid understanding of SOA, including practical experience in an SOA-environment
Solid understanding of the SOA and Integration challenges in a big corporate environment
Self-driven, self-starter, technology leader, work independent, respected for technical capabilities
Solid experience on integration protocols (e.g. Web Services (SOAP/XML), REST & JSON, and MQ), and the related SOA-security requirements/models.
Solid understanding of the overall architecture and how Integration technologies (e.g. WebSphere Business Process Manager – Lombardi/BPMN-Engine) fit into and operate within the architecture (e.g. technology positioning, functionality and features, value-add, best practices, deployment practices, architecture and application design, etc.).
Solid practical experience in a high volume banking environment.
Solid experience of the practical challenges that exist in an integrated project delivery environment.

Culture:

Will work in an environment with highly skilled, strong, opiniated, SME’s in related technologies (e.g. WebSphere Message Broker, WebSphere Process Server (BPEL-Engine), IBM BPM (BPMN), WebSphere DataPower, WebSphere Operational Decision Manager, etc.).
The team will work together on the establishment of a strong technical foundation architecture in support of the BPM-Project Delivery Teams.
Need to be self-driven. Able to work independent and as a team.
Will be required to provide technical technology leadership on area of expertise.
