Core description:

To oversee the complete value chain architecture for domains across systems, layers and business functions.

To lead innovation and programmes related to Digital and BSS domains.

Key deliverable / Primary functions:

• Lead the strategy and transformation of Digital and BSS domains
• Provides guidance to programmes or large/complex projects via consulting with domain architects and peers involved in implementation projects
• Leads the programmes that are related to retire legacy systems as required and implement new systems to replace them in the BSS environment
• Manages the artefacts developed and assembled by the enterprise architects: technologies, information and application artefacts and related metadata Policies Procedures Standards Principals Objectives
• Interprets the business strategy into an integrated business process, technologies, information and application architectural framework for a programme of work/portfolio level and providing a high-level roadmap for the implementation of the architecture
• Directs the activities by the solution architects focused in CRM and OMS
• Controls the activities conducted by the solution architects focused in billing & product catalogue
• Reviews the high-level architecture of all of the processes in an organisation and defines and implements a business process architecture that links the organisation's business processes to the value chains and ultimately to the strategic goals of the organisation ensuring minimisation of business process flows and maximisation of the investment in information technology
• Manages the implementations of the BSS automations according to operational and customer needs in Openserve and Telkom Group
• Provides solutions together with the architecture group and business units
• Ensures that user support is rendered to operate and maintain new BSS systems in Openserve and Telkom Group
• Ensures that all BSS systems should aim to ultimately enhance the Customer Experience
• Manages the content management of the function

Core knowledge and skills:

Solid understanding of the Telkom business; Deep Understanding of the processes and systems used by the Telkom business units; Understanding of the architecture discipline, processes, concepts and best practices; Solid technical aptitude and knowledge; TMFORUM TAM framework; Cloud technologies; Understanding of what is happening in the ICT industry in general; Strong resource planning capabilities; Business Plan; OSS/BSS systems; Communication; Measurement Techniques; Performance Analysis; Information technology; Decision Making; Problem Solving; Analytical; Customer Centricity; Entrepreneurial; Influencing Techniques; Organising; Planning;


• 8 years exp IT experience in Telecoms domain, of which at least 5 years on BSS and Digital domain, of which at least 3 years on senior management level
• Experience on a fixed line BSS transformation project
• Experience on a Digital transformation project
• Experience on a cloud enabled project


• 3 yr (NQF 7) Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
• Master’s degree or Equivalent (NQF8) in a technical discipline preferred.
