The position is for a Senior Systems Engineer in the storage space:

Design, implementation and admin of SAN and storage infrastructure at a client site.
Root cause analysis and problem solving of storage issues using the various tool sets available.
Provide general technical consulting on systems to the customer and 3rd party service providers.
Co-operate with sales and support personnel on customer requirements and needs.
Assist junior and new staff members in technical functions.
Take cognisance of industry compliance requirements.
Be aware of changes in clients operational and medium to long term objectives and ICT requirements
Be aware of SLA / OLA requirements.
Have a conceptual understanding of the Service delivery model.
Awareness of latest updates of Service Catalogue which form the basis of Service delivery Alignment with Client Services Models.
Awareness of emerging and current technologies.The following is required:

NQF 4 (Matric)
Certifications and/or a minimum of seven years’ experience in SAN, entry level to enterprise storage and storage virtualization (preferably IBM storage).
Practical experience with storage virtualization
Capacity management
Research and services improvement
SAN deployments, updates, zoning, problem solving, etc. [preferably Brocade]
Storage reclaims and mapping
SAN installations [Host / Storage / Fibre Switches and Directors]
Experience with updating firmware
Integrating systems
Incident, request and change management experience
Problem solving skills
Logging faults and following up with Vendors
iSCSI Fundamentals
Coaching of junior team members
Presentation skills
Standby and own transportation
The ability to work unsupervised
