Role details:
As a Technical Consultant you will be required to work primarily with IBM technology on UNIX/Linux and DB2/Oracle; and be responsible for ensuring the technical components of the project are correctly installed and configured. You will focus heavily within the Linux space and must have an excelled knowledge of Linux/Unix servers

Requirements: Technically related degree, BSC Hons or equivalent work experience
Extensive experience of working in IT on Unix platforms either supporting or implementing IBM or Oracle based client/server solutions
Demonstrated exposure to Service-Oriented Architecture
Excellent systems administration skills on AIX and Linux
Excellent systems administration skills on WAS 8.x
Excellent systems administration skills on Apache Tomcat
Oracle (11g or above) or DB2 database administration skills
Excellent SQL skills.
Excellent shell scripting skills
Good understanding of J2EE principals and Java programing
Good experience in requirements gathering and business analysis
Responsibilities:
Assist in Integration of our suite of products with backend client systems
Installation and configuration of our software
Installation and configuration of IBM software, especially AIX, MQ, DB2, Websphere
Linux RedHat Linux
Application Server and Tivoli Directory Server
Installation and configuration of Business Objects reporting software
Installation and configuration of Oracle and DB2 databases
Gathering business requirements and producing functional and technical specifications
Reference Number for this position is GZ40965-2018 which is a Contract position based in Johannesburg offering a salary of R500 per hour negotiable on experience and ability.
