SUMMARY
IRESS requires an Internal IT Manager to lead the South African internal IT team from our Johannesburg Office (Bryanston).
This person will be responsible for all information technology, infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage and backup, desktop hardware, Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems, Wireless, Local Area and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) and all Telecommunication Services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Establish a high level of service standards and operating policies/procedures for overall systems availability and individual system components.
Provide superior service to internal customers.
Managing the internal infrastructure and desktop support team which includes close interaction with business and division leaders, vendors and suppliers.
Responsible for assigning work items, training and coaching of team members, conducting performance reviews, and holding team members accountable for optimally performing their duties.
Create and maintain documentation and diagrams of office infrastructure, underlying services and systems.
Periodically review appropriateness of technologies used, provide recommendations and drive the implementation of improvements.
Responsible for handling hardware procurement for both the internal and production infrastructure divisions.
Escalate to, and liaise with the Network Engineering team to ensure all network related issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Assist the infrastructure and desktop support team with daily activities where required (i.e. hands-on involvement).
Maintaining optimal operating levels of all Office Infrastructure including: Server Rooms, Generators, Air-Conditioning units, Security systems, Phone and Videoconferencing systems.
Establish and maintain office Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and co-ordinate scheduled testing thereof.
Tight control of infrastructure expenditure and cost effectiveness.
Occasional visits to Durban and Cape Town branches.
Maintenance of internal development and delivery environments and infrastructure.
Internal IT security and privacy.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Minimum of 3 years experience in an IT Manager role.
Overall IT experience: Minimum 5 years
MCITP 2008/2012 Enterprise Administrator qualification and/or related degrees.
Strong knowledge of server infrastructure.
Skilled in hardware performance monitoring, analysis and capacity planning.
Excellent collaboration and communication/interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service ethics.
Strong leadership skills and drive for results.
Experience with implementing new processes and following through with required discipline.
Ability to perform well in team environments.
Ability to deliver and coordinate projects within tight deadlines.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Willingness to learn and explore new ideas and innovate.
Strong knowledge of Enterprise Active Directory topologies and Exchange 2010 systems.
Ability to pay attention to detail.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
Ability to work overtime as and when required.
Networking fundaments and monitoring tools (SNMP and WMI monitoring).
Internal network and application security.
