THE ROLE

Networks Unlimited requires an experienced pre sales consultant with an aptitude for mastering new technologies.
You will initiate, maintain and mature effective and productive sales relationships.
You will have excellent time management skills and will work out of the Networks Unlimited Offices in Cape Town.
You may be required to travel into Africa when necessary for customer and partner visits, events, training, and implementation projects. You must have a valid South African passport.
You will have excellent communication and presentation skills and a solid track record working in the ICT sector in either the distribution or reseller channel.
You will assist the Networks Unlimited Channel Development and Business Development Managers, while reporting to the Technical Manager/Directors.

PRE-SALES ACTIVITIES

Minimum of 5 years pre sales consulting or 7 years technical experience with a focus on networking and security.
Be able to effectively communicate the value proposition of the relevant product / technologies both from a customer’s strategic position as well as from a customer’s tactical position.
Both qualify and quantify the value that the product / technologies bring to the customer.
Propose and implement a Proof of Concept (POC) in order to demonstrate the product / technologies relevant value within the customer’s environment. Take ownership and accountability of POC process including working with customer and vendor resources.
Design the customized solution taking into account availability, capacity and functionality, resulting in a Bill of Material (BOM) that the Sales team can produce a quote from.
Conduct both formal and informal training/knowledge transfer to the channel or end user.
Achieve and maintain vendor’s required technical accreditation and assist in leading technical discussions at partner workshops, tradeshows and joint selling opportunities.

QUALIFICATION AND CERTIFICATION:

CCIE or CISSP (essential)
BSC/Computer Science, T3/T4 Electronic Engineering qualifications or equivalent.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Must have strong networking, switching, and routing background
In depth TCP/IP protocol knowledge
Microsoft and Unix/Linux operating system working knowledge.
Excellent fault finding and troubleshooting skills
Extensive ICT security and networking knowledge both theoretical and practical.

Practical working knowledge of:
o Encryption & Key Management
o Authentication technologies
o Data Loss Prevention
o Security Analytics and Log Management
o Email, Web & Database Security
o IPS/IDS/Application Control
o Firewalling
o Packet capture
o Ethernet/WiFi
o Routing / Switching
o MPLS/Diginet/ADSL/
