Good Understanding Of Process, Procedures and Work Instructions, ITIL Principles, In-Depth Knowledge of Networks LAN/WAN, Communications Systems and Technology

• Responsible for ensuring that quality standards are met through evaluating, designing and preparing detailed specifications for larger complex networks and communication systems that are in alignment with BCX’s and client standards , as well as supervising direct reports.

• Expert knowledge and skills in BGP(Border Gateway Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), advanced OSI (Open System Interconnection) models troubleshooting, MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching)

• Knowledge of HP Aruba Wireless equipment
• Knowledge of Juniper Switching infrastructure
• Knowledge of Mikrotik routers or Ubiquiti wireless.
• Advanced networking qualification (CCNP / CCIE / MTCINE)
• Excellent understanding and experience in monitoring and troubleshooting tools PRTG, wireshark, Airwav

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
• Troubleshooting of network faults
• MPLS, MetroE or MetroLAN services
• Wireless link outages
• Wireless link degradations
• FastNet LTE link outages
• Fastnet LTE link degradations
• Wi-Fi-related faults
• Configuration of networking equipment
• Switching (L2 and L3) equipment
• Wireless equipment
• New wireless radios
• MikroTik routers
• Fastnet LTE routers
• Solution scoping and design
• New solutions required for ongoing / recurring faults
• Solutions to client change / service requests
• Remote troubleshooting to determine the root cause of a fault
• Liaising with 3rd party providers to acquire information about faults and confirm resolution
• Liaise with upstream providers to troubleshoot and resolve any faults that occur
• DR planning

Qualifications
• Matric or Grade 12 or NQF4;
• A+ N+ Certification or;
• Degree or Diploma in ICT (3-year degree in computer science preferred)

Experience
5 to 8 years relevant experience; experience in CISCO Networking, preferred knowledge.
Experience in Juniper Network equipment will be advantages.

Special Requirements
• Valid Driver’s License and own reliable vehicle.
• Must be able to work flexible hours as may be required.
• Be willing to work overtime if the need arises.
• Experience in working with Head of Departments
• Be willing to learn and adapt to the current client way of work
• Working closely and in conjunction with team / contractors/ vendors
