QualificationsDiploma/Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related qualification
2-5 years Programming
5 Years Systems or Systems integration experience
Personal skills
Communication skills:
Verbal: Ability to communicate well from shop floor level to senior management level.
Written: Compiling operating procedures, specifications, systems documentation, E-mail communication.
Ability to understand complex data and network systems.
Project Management.
Working under pressure and multitasking
Duties to include the following:
Determine business and user requirements
Approval of functional design specifications and Process Flows
MES & SQL database design and development.
Faultfinding on communication issues or data logging issues.
Support and Strategy on SAP (PP, PM, QM)
Web development including report writing
Business improvement projects
Procurement process
Occasional Standby duties.
Required Experience
Manufacturing experience in MES/MOM Systems
Experience in Genealogy tracking systems
High level Programming experience
Experience in industry communication protocols.
Latest Windows OS
MS office, word, excel, Visio, Visual Studio
Server Experience (VMs, OS, hardware)
Advantageous Experience
SAP (PP, PM, QM)
Knowledge of Programming e.g. Visual Basic, C#, Visual studio.
Knowledge of Web development: asp, ASP.NET, HTML, Microsoft Internet Information Services, MS Reporting Services
Knowledge of Databases e.g. SQL Server, T-SQL, database management
Knowledge of IT hardware e.g. PC’s, servers, virtual servers
Knowledge of SCADA/MES technology e.g. Traksys, Proficy iHistorian, iFix
Knowledge of networking systems e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP, Networking, AD, SNMP
Knowledge of interoperation of factory systems
Industrial automation experience, knowledge of available technology, communication principles.
Production environment experience.
