Role details:
The PPM analyst will report to the Programme lead and be responsible for the interviewing and analysis of Capital Projects that fall within the City’s 3 year budget allocation cycle based on a predefined list of criteria.
• Analysis of spend plans and capital portfolio;
• Analysis of project delivery plans;
• Analysis of project governance deliverables;
• Analysis of project timelines and milestones;
• Analysis of project risks and implementation risks;
• Project process analysis;
• Qualitative screening of the readiness of the projects for delivery within the planned fiscal year;
• Qualitative screening of associated project risks;
• Qualitative screening of project governance status;
• Overall project assessment and report writing.

ESC and SAP Working Environment:
• The City of Cape Town boasts the largest local government SAP Footprint Globally.
• We have all SAP R3 Modules and Industry Solutions for Utilities (IS-U) as well as SAP Public Sector Records and Case Management. The Records Management component of PSRM was implemented in 2008 and the Case Management is currently being implemented.
• The SAP team is involved in multiple projects over a diverse Logistics Implementation.

Successful applicant will be required to do the following:
• Provide PPM analysis expertise, guidance and recommendations to aid in the review of the capital programme.
• Meet with project managers to review their project implementation readiness, requirements and risks.
• Conduct risk assessments with Project Managers.
• Facilitate the identification of any gaps in the project implementation readiness.
• Facilitate and assist in the change process regarding adoption of the CCT PPM processes.
• Manage and support the structuring of each portfolio and guidelines initiatives and items regarding alignment to business process requirements and definitions.
• Manage and support the migration of data including the upload and reconciliation of data in PPM regarding alignment to business process requirements and definitions.
• Provide knowledge transfer to City Employees and other project resources.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the successful analysis of the City’s Portfolio of Capital projects.
The roles and responsibilities of the SAP PPM Analyst are listed as follows:
• Screening of capital projects in a number of disciplines.
• Capturing of interview outcomes and results.
• Documentation of key business decisions.
• Support of SAP PPM training one on one.
• Provide understanding and context of the PPM processes to business users
• Facilitate one on one interviews with City Project Managers
• Track PMO, programme and project metrics to monitor and control performance.
• Regularly analyse PMO, programme and project metrics.
• Regularly report on PMO, programme and project metrics.
General Skills:
• Good documentation and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
• Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
• Strong analytic abilities.
• Must be a team player and able to work with and through others.
• Strong interpersonal skills

Technical Skills Required:
• Proven Project Management and Analysis skills
• Good one on one interviewing, facilitation and delivery skills
• Minimum 5 years Project Management experience
• SAP PPM transactional training
• SAP PPM capital process training
• PMO Experience
• Project management discipline knowledge
• Experience in the Public Sector environment would be advantageous
• Analytics’ Exposure
