Head of Compliance (R1mill to R1.8mill plus Bonus)
Leading financial services firm req’s reputable Compliance professional. Pivotal role to drive compliance frameworks, interact with regulators and protect reputation risk of the organisation.
Main Responsibilities:

Be instrumental to head up the Compliance team for large segment.
Protect the business from regulatory and reputational risk.
Key role to analyse, interpret and advise on regulation and legislation.
Engage with regulators and industry groups on compliance and regulatory matters
Understands the core principles of an effective compliance function.
Establish effective compliance frameworks, structures and core processes.
Implement Compliance governance.
Maintain detailed regulatory risk assessments for the business, identifying all

Regulations and assessing the regulatory risk.

Maintain and assess regulatory risk MI for the business.
Perform effective monthly verification testing on key regulatory risks of the business.
Review and provide input on the Compliance Risk Review coverage for the business.
Review the coverage plan, the scope of each review, and conclusions and final report.
Assess the overall testing coverage on regulatory risk for the business and address

deficiencies.

Serve on appropriate risk and governance forums for Compliance
Report to relevant governance forums with overall conclusions on regulatory risk.

Qualifications and Experience:

LLB Degree preferred;
8 to 12 years Compliance experience, within leading corporate essential;
Compliance exp in fin services, an advantage but not essential;
Understanding of legislative and regulatory landscape plus requirements imposed by regulators;
Knowledgeable on international legislative and regulatory requirements impacting SA;
Equity appointment.
