Job Purpose:

Provides expert advise and counsel to functional/ and non-functional user personnel and projects teams on the most complex aspects of a main technical speciality.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders, provides advice to business on best demonstrated practised for the specific technology.
Identifies and resolves most complex technical issues related to security technologies.(final point of resolution before consulting externally) Documentation of all processes, procedures and standards that enable the specific technology is maintain and communicated.
Stays abreast of technology changes.
Develops the skill within the organisation, act as skills mentor on specific technology.
Develop optimum solutions that meet both business and technology requirements . (Performance, Cost , sustainability, Capacity, ROI)

Key Performance Areas:

40% Problem Solving and Consulting on specific information Security technology 3rd level support (last point of resolution) - consulted to provide problem solving in high impact Security incidents Participation in design forums, project forums, user groups,
Present to stakeholders on any impact or change to specific technology
Provide expert advice on procurement of Security technologies
Vendor engagement related to specific technologies (owns technical relationship with vendor)
Participate in Research and Development related to specific Information Security Technology (ID new functionality translate for Nedbank environment - built feasibility study and migration plan )
Participate in RFP Has successfully provided advise that lead to the resolution on complex problems related to specific technologies Established productive relation with vendor in place resulting in regular updates on technologies and problem resolution is enabled
Internal Process Client 20%
Design optimal technical solution in the Nedbank Technologies
Contribute expertise on a specific technology in to design document (TED) related to information Security Technology and impact on Nedbank Technology Participate in proof of technology and proof of concept Evaluate and make recommendations based on proof of concept findings
Limit customization to enable seamless migration to future updates (principle of Vanilla)
Limited customization is agreed as best practice and design document available and accepted (published)

Internal Process Financial 20%
Document and maintain documents relevant to specific technologies
Maintain up to date landscape views and Technical and Security guidelines of how specific technology is implemented at Nedbank
Maintaining Security Technology road map to align to strategic IT Policies and Procedures)
Ensure documentation are in place, accurate and updated (road-maps , guidelines, Policies)
Standards related to specific technologies are published and up to date

Internal Process 10%
Growing the profession through technical mentoring Contribute to the content of the curricula
Review vendor training offerings
Provide technical mentoring related to specific security product
Participate in defining of career stream and role requirements
Attend tech security industry forums and compile and present Technical paper
Provide technical mentoring both to Individual and specialist development projects Standards related to specific technologies are published and up to date

Organisational Learning 10%
Ensure alignment with emerging Security Technologies, and impact on Nedbank Technologies ( incl Review and advise on Product or Technology specific standards to ensure alignment to Nedbank environment and legislative requirements )
Define and document standards relevant to Security Technology
Ensure implementation is aligned to compliance and legislation
Advise related to technologies has been accepted by relevant stakeholders as best practise

Essential Qualifications:

10- 15 years minimum with 4 years qualification / certification or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Expert knowledge on specific technology Understanding of industry best practise frameworks (CMMI, Rational, SDLC, ITIL)

Certifications:

Accredited Where formal expert certification on technology is available FPL or JMP or equivalent

Job Related Experience:

10- 15 years’ experience in an IT environment of which at least 2 years in a senior role from feeding career streams and at least 3-5 years specialising in a Information Security technology

12 years or more experience of the following IT systems:

Good knowledge of heterogeneous IT systems
Good knowledge of fault finding
Root cause analysis
Good understanding of the operational requirements Good understanding of incident logging process

Have experience of SIEM implementations and the management of SIEM rules and correlation of events:

Data aggregation
Correlation
Alerting
Dashboard
Log/data Management
Forensic Analysis
Event and system operations monitoring processes
