One of the world's largest brokerages is on the lookout for a Financial Planning Analyst to join Operations in Johannesburg.
Job Purpose
To provide financial planning, analysis and decision support services to drive business results.
 
Main Responsibilities
Key tasks
To be a business partner and provide financial support, review and analysis at regional level, maintaining regular contact with the business to provide a value added service.

Maintain open communication channels with the business to ensure expectations are clarified and updated.
Improve the cost-effectiveness, efficiency and added value of all services provided.
Support monthly general ledger close activities with journal entries that adhere to contracts and some account reconciliation. Journal entries include: revenue accruals, expense provisions/reversals
Review and monitor the monthly financial results for validity and accuracy.
Provide timely analysis of actual results and variances to budget, prior year and forecasts in prescribed format
Prepare monthly/quarterly revenue analytics
Review divisional expenses including headcount, and allocated overheads
Prepare, compile and review the annual budget, strategic plan and forecast in conjunction with Business Leaders, all in compliance with in the timetable and required format.
Attend and participate in monthly/quarterly Operations meetings to present financial results and key financial issues or risks
Participate and actively engage with any ad hoc projects that arise from both a Finance or Business view point

Supplementary tasks

Ensure compliance to Sarbanes-Oxley procedures, particularly with regard to revenue recognition procedures.
Perform tasks as agreed on the individual's Balanced Scorecard.
Complete training as agreed in the individual's Development Framework.
Perform duties in accordance with business ideals and Working Practices.

Qualifications and experience required:
3-5 years relevant financial experience, professional qualification preferred, experience of IFRS and GAAP, Oracle experience preferred
