Role DescriptionIT Infrastructure Engineer (Collaboration & Network) Sandton An exciting opportunity is available atthe best Company ever! Make a life change and not just a career change!!!! Role Description: The ITInfrastructure Engineer (Collaboration/Network) will be responsible for all aspects of design anddevelopment of the firm’s Unified Communications and video conferencing infrastructuresystems, including, but not limited to, hardware and software configuration, deployment, support andmaintenance, telecommunication lines, and integrations to other collaborations systems. Further, theEngineer will be part of the Network Infrastructure team providing support for network engineeringand remote-access VPN issues. The Engineer reports to the IT Manager of Network Infrastructure. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of all aspects of Cisco Unified Communications Manager,Unity Connections, Contact Centre Express, SIP and H323 voice gateways, Expressway, Codian, TMS, andCMS, as well as a solid understanding of router, switch, firewall, wireless access point, and VPNconfiguration and management, including routing and switching protocols, architecture designmethods, wireless network environments, and network security systems. Key Responsibilities: Workswith the engineering team to manage the firm’s voice, video, and networking infrastructureincluding call processing, voicemail, call queuing, MCU, scheduling, recording, integrations withother telephony and video systems and 3rd party integrations, and related network and securityequipment Individually and as part of cross-discipline teams, troubleshoot and resolve issuesrelated to the telephony, video conferencing, and network systems and other infrastructure elementswithin the firm For both new projects and on-going operations, provide assessment ofinfrastructure-centric and user-oriented collaboration and network needs, valuate interfaces andintegration points between hardware and software, and determine all operational and performancerequirements Work with service desk specialists, desktop infrastructure engineers, system andstorage engineers, and IT Managers to provide end-user support as a tier-3 technical subject matterexpert Participate in the creation and maintenance of technical service design documents,procedures, policies, and manuals Assist with the development of the firm's telephony, videoconferencing, and network infrastructure design standards, ensuring the design, where appropriate,incorporates industry best practices Carry out audits of the firm's global telephony, videoconferencing, and network infrastructure to ensure that the network complies with the firm'sstandards appropriate for the office IT topology and size Progress assigned projects and tasks withthe aim of delivering them on time and to budget using the firm's agreed Project Managementprocedures Produce monthly statistics, metrics and reports on the telephony, video conferencing, andnetwork infrastructure and identify areas of risk and usage trends Assist in the analysis andtesting of new and upgraded software Assist in providing post-implementation support for newlyimplemented systems When applicable, properly evaluate and document/train others in the initialtroubleshooting techniques to be used by tier-1 and 2 support for completing collaboration andnetwork engineering support calls Participate in rotational on-call responsibilities
Skills and Experience
Skills and Experience: Strong (tier-3) network support skills inclusive of prior experience withCisco telephony, videoconferencing, and networks Strong knowledge, as relates to routing real-timecommunications over dual-carrier environments, QoS, PfR, iWAN Experience with Cisco UnifiedCommunications Manager, Unity Connection, Contact Centre Express is required Experience with IOSgateways is required Experience with Expressway (C&E), TMS, MSE, and CMS is required Experience withF5 GTM, LTM, APM desired Experience with Aruba wireless controllers, WAPs, ClearPass, and Airwavedesired Experience with Palo Alto firewalls desired Data Centre networking including NX-OS desiredExperience with Riverbed WAN accelerators desired Linux/Unix experience desired Excellent customerservice skills Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities, excellent communicationskills, and ability to mentor others Must have technical proficiency with routing and switchingprotocols, network design, deployment, and management Qualifications: Must have three (3+)years of experience supporting IT collaboration systems (hardware, software and administrativecomponents) in a corporate network environment College degree preferred; Experience may substitutefor degree Possession of certifications such as CCVP or higher are desired Please follow the linkto apply directly to EOH Recruitment Solutions For further information you can contact CharmainFerreira on 010 590 4000
