A Sandton based BLUE CHIP that leverage technology to ensure they remain ahead of the competitions require someone to Head up their Digital Initiative. This role requires someone with excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking and consulting skills. You must have the ability to effectively drive people, process and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.

In this role you will be required to execute and implement digital strategy throughout the Business through the successful implementation of all digital initiatives. This will include leading a team of development managers to champion the process of digital transformation across product development and manage the transition to new integration technologies that are being introduced into the Business Unit/Group.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Education in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering and/or Information Technology
• 10 years of business experience
• 5 years’ experience working in a digital channels leadership role
• Experience managing a team of technology, design and business professionals.
• Solid understanding of product management, ability to understand the wants and needs of the Business Unit / Group’s customers and create digital products to match those needs, and digital disciplines (social media, SEO/SEM, search, mobile, web)
• Deep understanding of the evolving digital world on both the demand side (how people/companies are using technology) and the supply side (emerging technologies).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists
• Project management and a proven track record of executing strategies to solve business challenges

Responsibilities:

• Works with product and market teams as well as CDO, COO, CIOs, and other C-level executives to deliver on the digital vision for the enterprise, and to identify the opportunities for differentiating digital capabilities and solutions within the Business Unit/Group offering as well as External digital community, External suppliers and service providers
• Leads the process to identify and evaluate internal digital asset capabilities and strengths. Assesses external digital opportunities inputs to making the best decisions on business strategy for all digital landscapes
• Supports the development of the digital business strategy and road map, and ensures its integration with the group strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans. Responsible for developing and implementing 2 – 5 year strategy that affects more than one section in the BU
• Ensures that the Business Unit/Group is developing the digital assets and capabilities that will be needed to thrive in the mid-term and long term
• Acts as a champion and change agent in leading the changes required to create and sustain the Business Unit/Group digital capabilities
• Defines and reports on metrics that represent progress against digital goals

Reference Number for this position is GZ40168-2018 which is a permanent position based in Sandton offering a cost to company salary negotiable from R1.2 to R1,4 Million PA on experience and ability.
