My client in the East Rand islooking for an Infrastructure Engineer/Consultant that will be involved in the co-ordination,installation, configuration, programming and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes tomultiple system hardware and software architectures (Microsoft), and the range of products andproductivity tools that support the production environments.Key PerformanceAreas

Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existingapplications, software, and operating systems.
Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency ofexisting systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging thesesystems.
Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts toprovide direction
Collaborate with IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation ofsoftware and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Design and implementserver and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordancewith the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Work withsenior team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systemsgoals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
Integrate servers, includingdatabase, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprisesystems.
Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and otherapplications.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration,mapping, processes, and service records.
Perform cost-benefit and return on investmentanalyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
Ensurecompatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
Coordinate and performin-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Conduct researchon software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics andreports.
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to securesystem-related products and services.
