Job Purpose
To be the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in your technical domain by providing solutions and advice to business across multiple complex problem sets, working with vendors to improve IT technical domain solutions as well as providing support to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Responsible for the management of the J2E environments. The J2E Technical Support responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, tuning, automating and troubleshooting the J2E technical environment on an ongoing basis. The J2E Technical Support is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of J2E systems. A key area of responsibility is the documentation, automation and updating of the existing J2E environments. Ensuring we are on top of all open source J2E applications, and that we are ready to support and automate this.

Preferred Qualification and Experience
Qualification:
Certification in Websphere
Certification in JBoss, TomCat, Apache

Experience:
Information Technology - 3-4 Years
AppDynamics, J2E installations, J2E upgrades, J2E patching, jdk implementations, Solaris, AIX, Linux. Working with DB2 datasources, iPlanet and IHS.
Information Technology - 3-4 Years
ELDAP; BPM, Python, Java scripting, MQ, CHEF

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise
- Implement and maintain the multiple J2E instances that comprise the J2E environment (development, test, training and production), for all business units, namely: ROA, CIB, TOG and PBB.
- Install and configure all required J2E application and HTTP servers, using automation.
- Distribute the online J2E user workload and monitor.
- Maintain J2E performance by assist in executing J2E tuning strategies recommended by the relevant support vendors and application teams in line with best practices.
- Monitor all J2E systems using current monitoring tools (AppDynamics, ITCams)
- Perform java thread dumps and troubleshooting.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of J2E system upgrades.
- Apply and migrate J2E maintenance through all systems using a structured methodology.
- Follow the banks governance for all changes, incidents, requests & maintenance.
- Develop and maintain system documentation for all J2E instances and interfaces.
- Provide status reports for projects to seniors.
- Ensure security is in place at all times. Aim for an A+ on all web pages
- Performance tuning in line with the relevant application
- Understanding the applications that run on WAS
- Understanding the integration of the environments and dependencies
- Recommend better ways of working
- Guide the team in terms of best practices
