Role details:
Learners are initially given a secured 12 month contract and are paid a monthly stipend. After 12 months each Learner is assessed. Based on the assessment results the Learner may be offered a further 12 month Learnership contract, offered employment at BBD or given assistance in finding employment outside of BBD. The goal is to help the Learner gain enough experience to cement their programming skills in the workplace. BBD have a great track record with our Learners with the majority becoming BBD employees.
Learners are based at the BBD Johannesburg offices and attend specific software development training as well as being assigned a mentor and a team. The mentor and team will make you feel at home and are there to make sure you are exposed to the world of software development in a manner that allows you some time and space to find your feet.
When you apply you will be asked for information about where you have studied, what you studied and your results.
We do an initial selection based on this information provided so please submit everything we ask for as it just makes it easier. Once over that hurdle and if you are selected we will invite you for an aptitude assessment and take it from there.

Applicants must have completed their tertiary studies, the most common being ND Information Technology. Applicants must have no more than 1 years full time work experience
Shortlisted candidates are required to pass an aptitude assessment in Johannesburg and if successful will be interviewed.
Successful candidates will be enrolled in a 6 month training program and are taught fundamental programming skills in Linux, C++ and C#.
On successful completion of the initial 6 month training program, the learner will be placed onto a BBD project team and given the opportunity to develop their theoretical knowledge in the workplace.
Applicants must be prepared to work in any area or geographical region within the business where their skills are required.
