Role details:
One of our top clients based inPretoria, Tshwane is seeking the services of a Project Manager for a 36 month contract.

To manage, direct and lead thedelivery of  projects as assigned towards fulfilment within budget, according to specification(quality and scope) and deliver by due date.  Includes acquiring resources and coordinating theefforts of the delivery team towards realising the project’s objective and outputs. Theability to manage projects and initiatives using the Agile Methodology.



Accept assignment as project manager for a specific project with high complexity and highbusiness impact and contract the project role with the Accountable Executive and the ProjectBusiness Owner

Define the project objective in support of the businessrequirements as stipulated in the project justification proposal with supporting project benefitmeasurements

Lead and direct the project planning resources towards the creationof a logical and measurable project implementation plan, inclusive of task schedule and supportingbudget

Develop and acquire approval of the project management plan which includesthose specific knowledge areas (i.e. Time, Scope, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Procurement,Issue, Risk and Integration management) required to effectively manage the project throughexecution

Ensure that the project management plan (scope of work, schedule andbudget) are within the parameters of the approved project justification parameters as basis forapproval to commence with formal execution of the project.

Customer and Stakeholder Management

Provide excellent customerservice by meeting and exceeding the client requirements as per their requests

Handle queries and resolve problems as they relate to standards

Resolvecustomer issues within the desired time frame

Follow up on customer queries,complaints etc. where necessary

Delivery beyond the client expectations

Report through agreed reporting lines and methods on Project progress and directcommunications for the Project

Plan and execute the project communication plan inorder to maintain the required stakeholder and user satisfaction levels throughout the project.Report through agreed reporting lines and methods on Project progress and direct communications forthe Project

Normal project leadership as defined by both PMBOK, PRINCE2 and/or appropriate AgilePractice.

Functionally ‘wrap’ existing initiatives with flexible,solidly governed principles and practices to ensure effective and ‘tranched’delivery.


Design and manage projectcontrol mechanisms that assist with the tracking of project progress against the agreed upon projectmanagement plan (i.e. project schedule, budget and scope of work).

Proactivelyrecognize, assess and define issues and risks and formulate implementable response plans to addressthe issues and risks

Conduct quantitative and qualitative assessment of projectissues and risks and prioritise each in terms of probability and impact

Establishand maintain a project escalation process within the various project work team, the projectmanagement team and the project steering committee

Institute and manage theimplementation of control mechanisms and actions to address issues, risks or poor resourceperformance

Track and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective measures andactions to address poor resources performance and/or any project quality issues.
