Position : Senior Test Analyst

Location/Branch : Roodepoort


Description

The incumbent is responsible to execute manual, test automation and analyze, document and report issues found during testing. Ensure the quality delivery of developed systems.


Key Responsibility Areas

Core Functions:


Understanding of Software Testing Methodology including Test Planning, Test Coverage, Functional Test Development, Test Execution, Fix Verification, Regression, Upgrade and Data load Testing

Analyze, document, and submit issues discovered during testing. Verify and close issues resolved during the release cycle.

Attend Design Reviews to gain understanding of functionality in order to develop and execute testing tasks and responsibilities.
Develop in-depth Product Knowledge and develop Subject Matter Expertise
Develop Test Plan, Test Cases and Test Data for new product functionality and/or customer requests from Requirements/Specifications
Reviewing of Test Plan ,Test Cases and Test Data for new product functionality and/or customer requests from Requirements/Specifications
Conduct test execution on specific customer data and databases as directed Problem Research and
Conduct analysis of testing results/failures.
Fix Verification/Impact Analysis: Verify problems reported during testing are working as designed.
Verify no further regressions are caused by the fix.
Assist in estimation of hours required to complete testing projects and data import validation (as requested)
Analyze product specifications, software requirements specifications, and software prototypes, and interact with software developers to plan and develop test cases.
Partner and build effective relationships with others throughout the quality, software development, and product development organizations.
Execute, and support automated tests.
Keep abreast of current methodologies, technologies, and tools, and proactively seek ways to incorporate them into testing efforts.
Effectively contribute to the implemention of new ideas to improve the software testing process.
Elaborate the test plans for various products and projects
Execution and follow-up on the tests plans
Responsible for on time tests of the deliverables

Skills Experience:
Specifying and developing test cases according to the Business rules.
Production testing
Documentation of test results / test report
Manage delivery of day to day items in the team
Internal Review
UAT assistance to Client
Client review and walkthrough
Review Test deployment plans
Capability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff.
Having and spreading a customer focused vision
Developing team expertise , best practise techniques
Decision Making
Previous Java development experience
Test Automation.

Exceptional Communications Skills

Education amp; Qualification


Matric
Computer Science Degree or Equivalent
At least 2 yearsrsquo; experience in testing environment
Experienced testing JAVA based test
Experience in various projects
Full test lifecycle experience
Experience developing test specifications
Test scripts
Test data
Defining defects and managing defects lifecycle
Application of different testing techniques
Standard and tools
ISEB Foundation Certification
