Role details:
This position is made available to a Junior Technical Support Technician who will be required to monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks of the organization. You will be required to install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person. You will be required to work within first or second-line support.

Education:
• Degree / Higher Diploma in Information Technology
• Microsoft Certifications – IE MCSE, MCP (an
advantage)
• ITIL Foundation (an advantage)
• N+, A+ (an advantage)

Technical Skills:
• 3 years minimum working with Microsoft Applications
like Exchange, MS SQL, MS Office, Office 365,
SharePoint
• Previous experience in Education and Non-Profit
organization will be advantageous
• Desktop Support and Server support – Linux and
Microsoft
• Drupal Platform
• Liaising with External Suppliers / Vendor
Management

Duties:
• Install and configure computer hardware operating
systems and applications
• Monitor and maintain computer systems and
networks
• Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either
face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up
systems or resolve issues
• Troubleshoot system and network problems,
diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
• Knowledge of network security practices and anti-
virus programs
• Provide support, including procedural documentation
and relevant reports
• Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a
fault or set up a system
• Support the roll-out of new applications
• Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with
password issues
• Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
• Work continuously on a task until completion (or
referral to third parties, if appropriate)
• Prioritize and manage many open cases at one time
• Rapidly establish a good working relationship with
customers and other professionals, such as software
developers
• Test and evaluate new technology
• Participate in planning and recommendations for new
projects within the it team

Reference for this position is Junior Technical Support Technician which is a permanent position based in Sandton offering a salary of R 20 000 per month.
