• To ensure operational effectiveness, availability and performance of the storage landscape with a key focus on Mainframe z/OS during and after hours
• Responsible for installation and operational support of Storage Area Networks with key focus on Mainframe
• Responsible for installation and operational support of Mainframe Storage Devices
• Effectively executes all related tasks within the support areas with the focus on SLA management and delivery against these
• Ability to assess, document, and propose recommendations to management and clients.
Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
• Ensure storage landscape remains optimal in both configuration, software and hardware with specific focus on Mainframe. Including z/OS, IBM DS8884, DS8886 and IBM 7760 Virtualization Engine
• Administration, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Monitor and Implementation of SAN infrastructure with specific focus on Mainframe and FICON protocol with inter-site links
• Maintain, Recommend, Implement, Troubleshoot, Monitor and Improve the use of Storage Features used for DR (e.g. Metro/Global Mirrors and Failover and Failback) via DSCLI Scripting
• Support IBM disk, tape and virtual tape systems including IBM DS8884, DS8886 and IBM 7760 Virtualization Engine
• Consult with and coordinate all operational components concerning the scheduling of systems time for multi-vendor remedial service or preventive maintenance
• Troubleshoot in a multi-vendor enterprise environment and articulate issues and symptoms

Experience (length and type of experience)
Minimum of 15 years relevant technical experience in:
• Design, Implementation, Administration, Troubleshooting and Monitoring of Enterprise storage in a Mainframe environment
• Design, Implementation, Support and troubleshooting an Enterprise SAN environment with FICON as a protocol.
• Z/OS system, ICF Catalogs and IDCAMS
• CA-1 and TLMS tape management systems
• Disaster Recovery with storage technologies
• Proficiency with IBM Job Control Language (JCL), TSO/ISPF, SDSF, ISMF, IBM DFHSM, DFSMS, DFDSS, IBM Utilities and SMS ACS Routine coding

Special Requirements
• Standby twice a month
• Work with sale team to provide input into solutions
