Job Description:Systems
•Ensure that existing systems are optimal and in line with current business practices and industry standards;
•Identify the need for new systems and enhancement to existing systems, where necessary;
•Establish automated solutions of administrative processes and functions;
•Implementation of any enhancements to existing systems or new systems;
Processes
•Ensure that existing processes are optimal and in line with current business practice and industry standards;
•Identify the need for new processes;
•Implementation of any enhancements to existing processes or new processes;
Risk Management
•Identify and analyse operational risks, attributed to processes and systems, and ensure controls and contingencies are in place to mitigate the risk;
Consultation
•Facilitation of workshops with business stakeholders to ascertain requirements for systems and business processes to be implemented;
JSE Representation
•Representing the company at JSE communication sessions, broker forums and core workgroup sessions at an operational level;
•Implementation of any outcomes from the JSE forums within PCS
Required Qualifications and Experience:
•Minimum of a relevant undergraduate degree - Commerce Stream (B.Com) and / or relevant experience
•JSE Settlement and Compliance officer qualifications will prove advantageous
•Minimum of 5 years industry experience in the similar role
•Experience within the Stock Broking industry will be an advantage
•Proven track record in managing projects
•An excellent grasp of retail Stock Broking processes, products, systems and regulations
•Ensure all new and existing processes are optimal and in line with current business practices, industry standards and strategic initiatives
•Ensure all new and existing processes conforms to regulations and contains sufficient controls to mitigate any operational risks
•Technical understanding and in depth knowledge of products and services offered within the Stock Broking industry
•In depth knowledge of applicable regulations and compliance
•Thorough understanding of Service Level agreements with clients and service providers
•Ensure all new and existing systems are optimal and in line with current business practices, industry standards and strategic initiatives
•Ensure all new and existing systems conforms to regulations and contains sufficient controls to mitigate any operational risks
•Excellent knowledge of the JSE systems, including but not limited to BDA (Broker Dealer Accounting) and its replacement system MSS (Market Services Solution), Hermes (or similar) etc.
•Excellent knowledge of the operational systems,
•Profound in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Projects)
•Systematic, organised working conventions

•Ability to recognise systems and resource requirements within the overall framework of required activities
•Recognise trends
•Ability to manage relevant projects
•Ability to understand detail product information
•Ability to recognise need for changed and updated information
