Our client is seeking a SERVER SUPPORT ENGINEER to be part of a small growing team of Bank IT staff, who will assist management of all servers across the Bank network, including production, pre-production and development servers and occasional end user support.\n\nRequired Skills, Knowledge and Competencies
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Platform administration, including Exchange, MSSQL, AD, DNS, DHCP
Knowledge of VM Ware
Must have knowledge of Linux Ubuntu Server
Knowledge of Veeam backup & replication advantageous
Previous end user technical phone support experience
Flexibility to work any shift as well as working weekends, after-hours, and Holidays
7yrs or more experience working in server support role
Networking knowledge
Methodical approach to problem solving
Strong team worker with ability to work on own initiative
Professionalism, flexibility, tenaciousness and commitment
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Practical, hands-on approach: displaying a ‘can do’ attitude.
Understanding who the customer is, both internal and external
The server technician needs to be good at working under pressure in tense situations where people may be expecting regular reports and updates on the progress of a repair

JOB TITLE:
Server Support Engineer
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To be part of a small growing team of Bank IT staff, who will assist management of all servers across the Bank network, including production, pre-production and development servers and occasional end user support (as required)
REPORTS TO:
IT Manager
Function of the role - Support
Build VM windows servers 2008 & 2012, including core version and powershell usage
IIS 6, 7 & 8 support
Certificate renewals on IIS and Apache
Infrastructure configuration and maintenance
Scheduled server maintenance and updates
Report future hardware requirements in a timely manner
Check server disk space, event logs, services and availability
Be a key member of the Helpdesk team, providing 2nd line support as required
Provide support to the IT Manager
Carry out other duties, as requested that are within the capabilities of the job holder
Document resolutions in call tracking system
