Our client in Stellenbosch is looking to employ a Data Engineer (Cloud Engineer) who will be doing the actual coding and data management of the database.

The purpose of the role is to use their database, software engineering and programming skills to make sure that the necessary data is properly stored on the cloud platform and is available to the data scientists.
Responsibilities:

• Data infrastructure (Azure)
• Implementation of data architecture
• Development of routines (ETL, data flows, automation of algorithms developed by data scientists)

Qualifications and experience:

• Grade 12
• A relevant 3 year degree / diploma in IT or relevant experience
• Ideal: Post-graduate degree / diploma; Machine Learning Techniques, experience with Azure platform
• At least 2 years’ experience in programming and modelling of data
• Systems engineering and implementations experience
• Experience working with Cloud Platforms --NB
• Exposure with Technologies such as SQL Server, Elastic DB, Mango, Hadoop/Mapproduce, etc.
