The Senior Infrastructure Architect is responsible for developing and deploying integrated solutions across the organization. This role requires a driven, passionate and innovative mind that can perceive the true potential of technology and the value it brings to an enterprise. This role will help implement the company vision for its digital transformation and generate excitement and support.
The Senior Infrastructure Architect, is also responsible for researching, collecting and disseminating information on emerging technologies and their relation to existing enterprise solutions. Capable of understanding and coordinating complex integration projects spanning multiple disciplines within the company. Possesses knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies, programming concepts, operating systems, databases/warehouses and middleware/messaging approaches. Assists and/or coordinates maintenance and upgrades of existing enterprise solutions.

Key deliverables / Primary functions: Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment while maintaining superior customer service
Plan, design and develop solutions to meet customer needs by translating business requirements into system designs
Ability to manage and deliver large complex projects on time and on budget
Analyze current architectures effectiveness and develop strategies for improvement
Prepare technical design diagrams, system schematics, installation instructions, and data conversion requirements
Identify emerging technology trends, especially in the area of SaaS and cloud computing, and ensure the company is leveraging them when appropriate to increase efficiency, reduce costs and drive value
Interface with business process owners and architects to provide guidance and solution alternatives
Partner with business leaders to create robust solution roadmaps that are integrated with architecture and operations
Adhere to IT policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance
Test operations of completed solutions including integrations/components
Work closely with entire IT department to address technical complexities of their assigned projects
Work to ensure hardware, network, and server impacts are coordinated for project delivery
Evaluate new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise
Operate with a continuous improvement mentality
Collaborate with key stakeholders in the testing and deployment of new technologies and modifications
Flexible and willing to work on various solutions, applications and projects
Ability to adjust work schedules due to project demands or unplanned system issues
Act as a security architect and subject matter expert within network infrastructure and perimeter security technologies such as firewalls, load balancers, WAF, CASB, proxies, SDN, DNS and DDOS solutions.
Review technology designs with technology architects and engineers, taking local and regional regulatory requirements into account
Work with Global Cybersecurity, Global Technology Services teams and other Deloitte member firms on practical implementation of security controls and data protection policies across Deloitte member firms.
Perform vendor evaluations and proof of concepts for service improvements, in-flight projects and emerging technologies as needed
Investigate, design & architect specific cybersecurity controls as they are identified & required
Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Deloittes global business processes, core systems, technologies, data, customers, and delivery partners
Participate in region/business unit related conferences, client facing engagement and industry forums to represent the Cyber Security program
Communicate and oversee technical implementations of all security solutions/services required to meet business objectives
Closely collaborate with Cybersecurity Architecture and Engineering teams and other global technology teams to help develop technical roadmaps
Provide insight and requirements obtained from the global account teams into the design and implementation of new Cybersecurity shared services
Assist with the implementation and translation of information security policies
Work with other Enterprise Architecture domains to develop comprehensive architectures with security designed in from the start
Establish effective working relationships across various Global line of business and member firm security & IT leaders to understand their business requirements to help execute their business strategy
Work in partnership with the Security Assessment Services and Global Business Services teams whenever necessary to ensure IT solutions being designed in accordance with industry standard and internally defined architectural security standards and policies
Experience:
7 years of experience in a senior security architect type role
Have in-depth knowledge and experience with Cisco, Checkpoint, F5, Palo Alto, Symantec (Bluecoat) or other similar products
Have experience in network design and architecture for a medium to large enterprise company
Experience working in a matrix model, as the security architect will be required to support and lead specific cybersecurity initiatives, as well as act as an advisor & subject matter expert in non-cybersecurity led initiatives and projects, across multiple regions or organizational functions
Qualifications:
3 yrs (NQF 7) Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
Masters degree (NQF8) in a technical discipline preferred.
