Tasks:• Technical design and associated documentation • Development (this is mostly enhancements and maintenance work) • Unit testing • Support for BA/User Testing • Post-go-live production support • Remote afterhours standby/support according to a standby roster • System administration • Participate in a Knowledge Community to develop best practices, standards, methodologies for the client community of C developers.
Competencies:
• Ansi C (In the majority) • C++ (In the minority) • Operating systems: Unix, Linux (optional) • Scripting: KSH, Bash • Oracle 9i • PL-SQL • Any version control environment (we use Starteam) • XML and XML Schema • TCP/IP • English – a lot of communication between BA’s, support desk and the other developers are likely to take place tellephonically, via IM or email.
