Ourexternal client based in Vanderbijlpark is current seeking a Production Automation SystemsOperations Manager to liaise with client (production and business) on a daily basis on PASoperational issues. Implement corporate and departmental standards, policies (testing, validation,change control, backup, disaster recovery and incident/problem management) and methods for the PASenvironment.Qualifications:
B (Eng) Degree or relevant BDegree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
A post-graduate qualification will bean advantage.

 
Experience:
8 years relevant experience in managing Production Automation Systems (PAS)environments:

process automation software development
operational systemssupport on a 24/7 basis
infrastructure deployment, maintenance and support
projectmanagement

Detailed understanding of manufacturing business processes.
Detailed understanding of system integration and inter-system communication between ProcessControl/PAS/MES/ERP.
Experience in negotiating and maintaining contracts withsuppliers.
Experience with developing and managing an operational budget.


Experience with IT Service (ITIL) Delivery and Demand Management.

Administration of the PASOperations department including SHERQ and managing performance and capacity of PAS resources.

Administer and support the PAS, MES and Process Models infrastructure, includingsystem checks and security defences with the aim of ensuring maximum service levels across allplants and departments.

Manage and maintain an Order Book of change andenhancement requests for PAS systems across all plants and departments.

Responsible for chairing and/or attending CAB meetings for a specific functional area andrepresent the PAS environment.

Liaise with client (production and business) on adaily basis on PAS operational issues.

Implement corporate and departmentalstandards, policies (testing, validation, change control, backup, disaster recovery andincident/problem management) and methods for the PAS environment.

Risk managementwithin the PAS environment.

Identifying and attributing PAS operations budget andcosts, including CAPEX when relevant.

Managing of the PAS and MES infrastructureand spares.

Management of third party suppliers and PAS contracts.

Manage continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of best practices in PASenvironment.

Execute policies and standards as specified by theCompany IM Global including development and implementation of PAS Operations policies,procedures and documentation.

Implementation of PAS Operations strategy, alignedwith the departmental strategy.
