Network Infrastructure

Configure securitysettings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
Upgrades network by conferringwith vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
Configure anddefine parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN),hubs, routers, switches, controllers including interface configuration and routing protocols orrelated networking equipment.
Establishes network by evaluating network performance issuesincluding availability, utilization, throughput, latency; planning and executing the selection,installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network procedures; establishingconnections and firewalls, or for disaster recovery purposes.
Identify the causes ofnetworking problems, using diagnostic testing software and equipment.
Install and configurewireless networking equipment.
Install network software, including security or firewallsoftware.
Install new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring integration withexisting network systems.
Maintains network performance by performing network monitoringand analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems tovendor.
Test computer software or hardware, using standard diagnostic testing equipment andprocedures.
Troubleshoot network or connectivity problems for users or user groups.
Monitor industry websites or publications for information about patches, releases, viruses, orpotential problem identification.
Test repaired items to ensure proper operation.
Research tools that aid to maintain the smooth operations of the Information Communication andTechnology infrastructure services.
Planning and scheduling of network infrastructureprojects impacting the Company.

 
Network Governance, Complianceand Risk Management

Adherence and enforcement of the Company ICTpolicies.
Research, develop and promote innovative solutions aligned with the ICTStrategy.
Assists and provides support network capabilities to the ICT team and the overallCOMPANY team.
Carry out multiple tasks efficiently without compromising quality.
Perform related tasks as and when required.
Provide assistance in the planning andimplementation of new systems.
Provide assistance in testing new equipment andsystems.
Liaising with relevant 3rd parties towards the resolution of technicalissues.
Contributing to the execution of the patch/fixes/firmware management solution.
Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software,and hardware.
Plan, coordinate, and implement firmware upgrades to network equipment andensure network equipment is always up to date.
Administer day to day operation of networksand servers, implement Local Area network (LAN), Wi-Fi and Wide Area Network (WAN) maintenance andmanagement procedures.
Support the use of project management by contributing to projectteams, completing assigned responsibilities by established milestone dates, and effectivelycommunicating with the project team.
Secures network by developing network access,monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation
Back up network data.
Research hardware or software products to meet technical networking or security needs.

 

Contribute to the development and review of the Service levelAgreements between the Information Communication and Technology Unit and business including thirdparties on behalf of the Company.
Collaborate, with team by working effectively withteam/work group or those outside formal line of authority to accomplish organizational goals.

 
Reporting and Documentation

Document networksupport activities.
Create or revise user instructions, procedures, or manuals.
Create or update technical documentation for network installations or changes to existinginstallations.
Maintain logs of network activity.
Run monthly networkreports.
Document Information Communication and Technology network infrastructure designsand standard operating procedures.
Develops, maintains and acts on proactive reporting fromthe network infrastructure.
Creates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures.

 
Key Measures

Availability of Networkinfrastructure.
Accuracy of proactive and periodic reports.
Compliance to changemanagement processes, policies.
Minimal findings from vulnerability assessment.
Capacity planning.
Monthly testing of failover components.
Firmware/patches/software upgrades to be at a maximum of N-1.
Completion ofprojects/tasks on time.
Maintain knowledge of ICT Infrastructure.
