Senior Manager: eCommerce, Integrations, and BI Development
Senior Software Development Manager sough to join South Africa’s leading automotive group. Our client has unrivalled scale and scope in South Africa and a growing international presence. Their eCommerce Strategy has been integral to this success. They are looking to appoint a Senior Manager to head the E-Commerce, Integrations and Business Intelligence Development divisions who will be responsible for overall team delivery of architecture, design, development, quality assurance and support for various web, mobile, business intelligence, and integration (API) technologies. The incumbent will assist in driving the technological needs and ensuring the timely and quality delivery of code by working with cross functional teams to prioritise and execute against a plan. As part of the IT management team, you will contribute to the development of the IT strategy and implementation of IT governance. As such you should keep up with the latest industry specific technological trends to bring expertise in how best to innovate current platforms. Responsibilities will include leading and managing a team of software developers, service providers, and support staff; analysing, designing and developing new features, plugins, and bug fixes to enhance the quality of customers’ experience; ensuring on time deployment of all website activities and updates, including timely platform upgrades and security patches; implementing, optimising, and manage SDLC and DevOps processes; reviewing time estimates from solution providers and challenging them where necessary; escalating issues to management that can/are affecting on-time/on-budget delivery; ensuring solution quality and effective delivery of solution to the business; ensuring updated system documentation is maintained; and serving as a liaison and primary point of contact within the eCommerce organization for cross functional partners acting as a project manager to evaluate, prioritize, develop, manage, implement and test eCommerce initiatives.
To apply you should have a Computer Science Degree (or similar relevant qualification) and 5+ years’ experience as a Software Development Manager with experience working in distributed teams using in agile methodologies such as Scrum & Kanban and at least 5 years’ hands on development experience using C# with ASP.Net Web API using SQL and JavaScript using AngularJS within a multi-tier architecture. You will need to be proficient in management of API economy and digital platforms, with working knowledge of REST, SOAP, Web Services, Microservices, and Containers. You will need to be well versed in implementation, optimisation and management of DevOps processes with proficiency in cybersecurity controls, and frameworks, as they relate to eCommerce and development, especially OWASP. Strong C#, .Net Core, MS SQL, and Object Oriented development knowledge is essential.
This position would suit a technical individual who is skilled in leading / mentoring by example. You should be good communicator with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively manage dev teams. You should be a strategic thinker with creative problem-solving skills who is able to meet time sensitive deadlines and rely of your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
