Architect – Tech C# / Azure - Sandton – Not banking – neg. to R1.3m per annum, contract available as well
You’re a tech driven Architect with a ton of years’ experience producing .NET based tech.
One of the few big spending tech sites in Sandton that isn’t a Bank.
The site is ramping up spending on a variety of enterprise systems; you’re going to come on board to help them do it. They’re going to take you on through one of their suppliers but they will commit to you long term & give you the stability you want in this economy.
Your gig is to drive and product tech essentially – your formal job description will include words like:
Defining standard ways to define create & choose frameworks the developers are using.
Consult internally on reusability, creating component designs that add to the ecology.
Make the big complex stuff understanding and relatable to your developers. (fair enough, they used bigger words to say that).
They talk about interactions, dependencies; you’ll drive the quality of the final product, you will play a hand in the growth of the team & you will evangelize new tech, patterns, tech strategy.
In short, it’s a heavy duty job that brings you all the influence & power that seems so rare these days in the market.
The tech stacks they’re aiming for at this point include: (if this reads a little uncertain, it’s because you get to make most of those calls)
• C# - .NET, a mix of .NET Standard & .NET Core
• ASP.NET but using C# with Angular on the front ends & possible Node.JS through the backends
• The usual HTML / ASP.NET MVC type suspects
• You will have a WCF legacy but driving Web API / Restful services type components
• Azure – they’ve paid Microsoft already so we know it will be Azure including Azure Devops
You’ll need to have played the Architectural evangelist hand before. You will be part of the team daily, so will find yourself coding but your team will handle the heavy lifting. They’ll expect you to bring all of the usual SDLC / ALM tool knowledge with you.
