Praesignis is looking for skilled and experienced Data Architects with experience and a good understanding of the Banking Environment. The position will require working extended periods in African countries.Minimum Requirements

Matric or equivalent Certification. Candidate should have 5+ experience in Data Architecture. Understanding of the Banking Industry. Experience with Project management methodologies eg. Agile and Prince 2.
• Hands on data architecture development experience
• Knowledge of MDM, ETL, data profiling, data archiving , data synchronization, data migration, data integration and data storage design patterns
• Experience with documenting data models using UML and/or ER diagram types
• Experience in working in data migration projects
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
• Data models and facilitation of data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical data modes for different purposes)
• Relational database solutions (Oracle, DB2, MSSQL etc.)
• Solutions for data synchronization between different applications and locations
• Data migrations and cleansing solutions
• Data quality and master data solutions

Job Specifications

The successful candidate will be working in a fast paced environment using project management methodologies to deliver High quality solutions to our customers.
• Lead a team of Data Analysts working closely with the Business and IT teams in determining data rules to be translated into design and build effort, post any data cleansing requirements
• Establish the cross-application data standards, data distribution standards, and tuning strategies
• Ensure test data conforms to data security requirements
• Develop and present substantive technical data and database recommendations to senior and executive management
• Develop strategies for data migrations, data recovery and infinite data availability.
• Select tools and systems in order to meet business needs
• Close cooperation with the project manager, business or operations teams, team members and other technology experts and vendors in the design, evaluation, selection, implementation and support of major databases and metadata structures.

Optional Requirements

Bachelor's degree in IT or other relevant studies. Certification in Data Architecture or Enterprise Architecture such as TOGAF 9 beneficial.
