Technical Officer
(Ref. ING02/166/0521)
Duties:
Manufacturing fine mechanical workpieces where the use of various workshop machinery applies;
Maintenance and simple repairs of machinery and equipment;
Cleaning machines and the general cleaning of the Fine Mechanical Workshop;
Providing technical support to students and staff;
Asset control and inventory control management.

Requirements: Matric (or a National Senior Certificate, or NQF level 4 equivalent);
Relevant N2 Diploma in engineering (or NCV at NQF level 2 or equivalent);
Technical experience of at least five years in support of an academic Matric;
Appropriate proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software experience;
The ability and willingness to learn new skills and to undergo further training;
The ability to work independently and in groups;
The ability to handle physically demanding work.
Recommendations:
Relevant N3 Diploma in engineering (or NCV at NQF level 3, or equivalent) or higher;
Experience in a mechanical workshop;
Electrical or electronic experience.
