Technical Officer
(Ref. ING02/166/0521)

Duties:

• Manufacturing fine mechanical workpieces where the use of various workshop machinery applies;
• Maintenance and simple repairs of machinery and equipment;
• Cleaning machines and the general cleaning of the Fine Mechanical Workshop;
• Providing technical support to students and staff;
• Asset control and inventory control management.

Requirements:

• Matric (or a National Senior Certificate, or NQF level 4 equivalent);
• Relevant N2 Diploma in engineering (or NCV at NQF level 2 or equivalent);
• Technical experience of at least five years in support of an academic Matric;
• Appropriate proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software experience;
• The ability and willingness to learn new skills and to undergo further training;
• The ability to work independently and in groups;
• The ability to handle physically demanding work.


Recommendations:

• Relevant N3 Diploma in engineering (or NCV at NQF level 3, or equivalent) or higher;
• Experience in a mechanical workshop;
• Electrical or electronic experience.
