Role details:
The BPM Project Manager manages complex solutions and enables business process management programs and projects for cross sector clients, with focus on the financial banking industries. This role involves delivery, enablement of capabilities, consultative selling and providing advisory services to multiple layers of leadership. The BPM Program Manager is responsible for Business Process Application Implementations on Business Process Improvement Projects and Analysis and in the process, working to take the organisation towards greater BPM Maturity. The Project Managers will have in-depth skills and experience in delivering BPM-solution, and is well versed in SOA and ECM domain expertise.

Main responsibilities include: Managing BPM-projects of significant size and complexity, in a challenging banking environment, delivering creation of automated workflow, business rules analysis, business activity monitoring, as part of BPM solutions for business.
As a seasoned/senior project manager, able to execute programs amidst significant business and technical challenges
Collaborate with Business users, Consultants, Business Process Engineers, BPM-Designers, BPM-developers and Architects to build BPM-solutions that solve client problems and deliver business value
Use Agile methodologies and develop iterative project plans to meet client schedules and delivery expectations
Drive projects delivery on IBM Business Process Manager (formerly known as Lombardi) and IBM Operational Decision Manager (WODM) technology platforms.
Drive requirements processes that will include business process modelling, business rules modelling, activity based monitoring and business analysis, as key capabilities on the relevant development toolsets (e.g. ARIS, IBM Process Center, Rational).
Project Execution: Manages all project related activities on a daily basis and has responsibility for execution and final delivery and release of the product.
Plan and Manage Project Scope: Develops and manages project schedules status, develops and manages project budgets, project resources, deliverables, issues, and timelines throughout the project. Conducts regular project status/quality meetings and reports. Keeps management and key stakeholders well informed on a timely basis on project progress, status and/or concerns for each assignment. Develops project metrics and facilitates project scorecard development.
Define Requirements: Works closely with project stakeholders and project interfaces to define and manage project scope and requirements.
Manage Project Work: Ensures deadlines are met by participating in resource planning, effectively planning, organizing, prioritizing, and delegating assignments to project team members, interfacing project teams and following up on their individual progress.
Communication Facilitation: Facilitates communication and negotiation within and across the project team(s). Escalates risks as required to appropriate level of management. Build strong relationships with business users and project delivery teams.
Project Leadership: Provides leadership to the project team for the standards and processes throughout the life cycle of the project. As the designated Project Manager, conducts performance reviews and provides input into project performance reviews for each team member. Shares knowledge with, coaches and mentors less experienced BPM Project Managers.
Project Closeout/Final Acceptance: Formalize final acceptance for the project from the sponsor/customer by ensuring that the delivered product(s) and services comply with the agreed deliverables list, agreed scope, and any organizational procedures in order to close contractual obligations
Develop Resources Plan: Provides input to ensure adequate project staffing, budgeting and resource management.
Decision Making: Participate in Risk Assessment, Status Assessment, Process Direction, and Communication Strategy.
Educational Requirements:
Relevant 4 year graduate qualification or equivalent industry experience
Certified in Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)
Proven track record in managing BPM-projects (SOA & Integration technologies, Business Process Management methodologies & technologies, Enterprise Content Management technologies).
At least 4 years experience in managing projects, developing BPM-application on IBM Business Process Manager (formerly known as Lombardi) and/or IBM Operational Decision Manager (WDOM) - (formerly known as iLOG) experience with other technology enablers will also be considered.
At least 4 years experience in full life cycle Business Process Management engagements using Agile methodologies
At least 5 years experience in leading large complex projects in a matrix environment
At least 5 years experience in project financial forecasting and reporting
At least 5 years experience in leading geographically distributed teams (resources in more than 1 country)
At least 5 years experience in project management processes, methods and tools
Experience in contributing to, and working with contractual agreements
At least 3 years experience in Finance and Banking industry.
Skills:
Experienced Senior Project Manager.
Extensive Project Management experience across the full life cycle
Experience managing applications development projects
Experience in Business Process Management (BPM) and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) based projects is a MUST
Experience with project delivery on IBM BPM (Lombardi/BPMN-Engine)
Experience and a good understanding if Services Oriented Architectures (SOA).
Exposure to a variety of methodologies, including: Agile (Scrum) and Lean Six Sigma is desired
Certification in a project methodology is preferred.
Experience in a client facing role is advantageous
Excellent communication and presentation skills
BPM functional understanding (process improvement, automation, process modelling, BPM-notation (e.g. BPMN, BPMN2), DMAIC, etc.)
BPM project implementation experience
IBM BPM implementation experience
Experience within the Banking sector
Ability to identify and address inefficiencies in the technical environment
Experienced with managing large projects from idea to delivery, in an Agile Methodology
Able to build and maintain strong collaborative working rapport among multiple partners
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with various levels of management
Able to work with co-located or virtual teams
Experience in contributing to and working with contractual agreements
Culture:
Will deliver BPM-solutions across business clusters (banking), as the project lead of a BPM-project delivery team, reporting into the Banks Group Technology division.
Will be part of, and report into, a Business Process Management Centre of Excellence (CoE) that has the objective to deliver BPM-projects and to grow composite BPM/ECM/SOA solutions delivery, methodologies and skills over time (in Business and Group Technology).
The Centre of Excellence will also be responsible for the technical delivery of the BPM-solution in a complex project matrix environment.
Will be required to take the lead in the delivery of BPM-projects as a relatively new capability in the Bank (e.g. facilitate, influence, sell and contribute towards business process improvement and automation practices in the organisation), and will act as the bridge between Business and Group Technology.
Need to be self-driven. Able to work independent and as a team.
