We have a vacancy for a Test Automation Engineer. The position is based in Stellenbosch, Cape Town and reports to the Production Engineering Manager.

Purpose:
The Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for the development and design of RF portions of our electronic embedded systems and products. Qualify hardware products through unit and system testing and formal certification; diagnose faults in devices returned from the field.
Responsibilities:
1. Hardware Development
- Design and Development the RF circuits and antenna matching circuits
- Design for quality test, manufacture, TTM
2. Unit Testing
- Testing of all RF HW, proto types, engineering samples, field trial units and production units.
- Design for cost
3. Integration Testing
- Qualification of the RF related hardware within a system
4. Diagnostic
- Diagnosing and improve current RF Designs on legacy designs
- Assist with field trial tests and validation
- Assist with product Certification

Personal Attributes, Knowledge & Skills:
- RF circuits, antenna matching circuits and antennas design
- 433 MHz transceiver designs with on board antenna development and external antennas
- Analogue designs and power supply designs, be able to design these efficiently
- GSM modems, experience with Open AT will be an advantage
- GPS front end designs
- Experience in the development of mobile devices will be an advantage
- Ability to work in a team or on your own
- Ability to communicate your ideas clearly
- Enthusiastic, “can-do” attitude towards your work

Qualifications and Experience:
- B Tech Electronics of higher diploma in Electronics
- + 3 years experience
- English and / or Afrikaans
