Role details:
A position exists within the Business Technology Solutions Division of Innovation Group South Africa for a Business Analyst. The main responsibilities of the job include to obtain and document client requirements pertaining to software development and process needs, user acceptance testing, process modeling, process engineering, and general ad-hoc duties.

Main purpose of the job:Analyse and document insurance, business and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems.
Analyse and document user requirements, procedures and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations.
Education (Formal Qualifications required):
Matric
Relevant University Degree or Technikon Diploma; BCom Informatics or equivalent advantageous
Experience required - Job Title / Function / Type of experience and minimum time spend in the job:
A minimum of 3 years experience in business analysis preferably in the Insurance or Financial Services Industry.
Knowledge of development languages (like C#) and SQL databases.
Experience in compiling Process Flows, Entity Relationship Diagrams and System Wire Frames (Balsamiq)
Experience in Visio and UML advantageous.
Experience in Fleet Management / Managed Maintenance and supporting systems will be hugely advantageous.
Main Outputs & Responsibilities/ Detailed description:
Ensure time sheets, are filled in accurately and before due date.
Ensure time recorded is accurate, fair and reasonable for billing purposes
Work closely with clients to identify business needs and the costs and benefits of implementing a computing solution.
Consult with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation.
Provide fair and accurate estimates on the cost of implementing proposed solutions to clients.
Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
Provide staff and users with assistance solving business related problems such as revision of ineffective processes and/or software problems.
Train staff and users to work with computer systems and programs.
Obtain CSI rating from clients
Analyse information processing or computation needs and plan and design computer systems, using techniques such as structured analysis, data modeling and information engineering.
Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt them to a user environment
Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
Define the goals of the system and devise flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs.
Liaise with solution developers on the cost and time required to implement proposed new solutions or alterations.
Determine computer software or hardware needed to set up or alter system.
Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures and quality standards.
Perform functional testing on system enhancements or changes related to projects responsible for
Analyze and propose expansion or modification of systems to serve new purpose or improve work flow.
Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
Specify inputs accessed by the system and plan the distribution and use of the results.
