The Programmer’s role is to write,code, test and analyze software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing,documenting and modifying software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
Reporting to the Senior Developer, the successful candidate will be based in Midrand and will beresponsible for the following:
 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assistdevelopers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs andapplications 
Assist in the preparation and documentation of programrequirements and specifications
Research and document requirements of program users
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according tospecifications
Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs forthe purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas
Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on thestatus of the programming process
Assist in the development and maintenance of user manualsand guidelines
Install software products for end users as required
Write programmingscripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of company web site and/or related webapplications as necessary
Delete code script from company web site and/or related webapplications as necessary
Conduct research on emerging application development softwareproducts, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades
Liaise with networkadministrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems withsoftware products or company software systems
Manage and/or provide guidance to juniorprogrammers and research assistants
Analyze and amend software errors in atimely and accurate fashion
REQUIREMENTS
Matric withmathematics is essential and a MCSD qualification/degree in the field of computer science orsoftware engineering
Minimum 3 years work experience
Minimum 2 yearsworking technical knowledge of programming languages and platforms, including Dot Net, C# and VisualStudio 2013
1 year extensive database experience with Microsoft SQL 2008 upwards
Thorough understanding of platforms such as XAML and Entity Framework, knowledge of N-Tierdevelopment will be an advantage
Hands-on software troubleshooting experience
Flexibleand adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies
Knowledge ofapplicable data privacy practices and laws
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to conduct research into software-related issues andproducts
Technically proficient
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Own transport and a valid drivers’ license
