South Africa’s largest independent deployer and operator of ATM’s requires an Application Support Engineer in Johannesburg area.Requirements:
 

Matric/ Grade 12 certificate
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
3+ years of engineering systems administration experience in supporting open source applications and commercial applications
Experience with Networking protocols
Detail-oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong programming skills
Valid code 8 driver’s license and own transport

 
Duties (including but not limited to):
 

Maintain internal productivity and collaboration tools
Be responsible for user management, configuration of new processes and projects, training, documentation, and daily routine maintenance
Be the initial point of contact for all functionality issues, bug reports, upgrades, security patches and enhancement submissions
Triage all requests for functionality changes and enhancements to prioritize accordingly, and they facilitate distribution of information to the Business in dealing with the Application Support team's backlog
Develop and analyze highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance
Work closely with end users to gather requirements and enhance the systems
Evaluate products and upgrades for appropriateness
Oversee and implement system upgrade strategies
Perform analysis on application usage
Research current systems technology and serve as subject matter expert on complex systems processes and procedures
Keep process and other related documents updated
