We are looking for a Junior Programmer l for a company based in Brackenfell.

Qualifications and Experience • 3yr Diploma in Information Systems
• BCom Information Systems
• BSc (Computer Science or Information Systems)
• Professional Qualification Level 5, or equivalent knowledge and skills
• 1 - 2 Years application development / programming experience
Knowledge
• Has acquired the correct level of skill in an appropriate technology.
• Takes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail.
• Has acquired a broad understanding of IS concepts and practice, particularly those used within own organisation.
• Basic knowledge of how data is aggregated moved and manipulated for reporting and Business Intelligence.

Tasks and activities:
• Create and amend programs in accordance with the design and timing of work schedules.
• Document all work in accordance with agreed standards.
• Develop applications and programs from supplied specifications according to agreed
standards.
• Test programs; correcting errors and re-test to achieve an error-free result.
• Conduct reviews of supplied specifications, with others as appropriate.
• Review own code in consultation with senior programmer.
• Resolve Bugs/Issues as they arise. Make agreed enhancements to the system
• Clarify specifications and requirements with Business, on occasion.
• Escalate relevant queries to necessary technical person when necessary.
• Receive and log requests for support from users and/or service delivery staff. Ensure
all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards,
methods and procedures and that any applicable configuration management
procedures are adhered to.
• Take corrective action to improve system performance and to avoid problems arising.
