They are looking to appoint an Architect level Data Engineer with solid experience using C#, SQL, and RDBMS who will primarily architect, build and maintain data systems as well as provide technical support for a corporate client. This involves L1 – L3 support across multiple technologies. You will also workshop new requirements, design, and spec new development across all clients. You will be required to architect data infrastructure and design and organize databases to fit the clients’ needs. Responsibilities will include in-depth analysis of datasets using SQL; creating detailed systems solutions recommendations to improve datasets & performance within the architecture; working in an agile environment with a small development team taking on new features, spikes, bugs; planning, design, implementing, documenting, testing & releasing new features; developing, debugging & testing solutions using various technologies & programming languages; performing code reviews; Improving data quality & efficiency; maintaining & monitoring existing solutions; maintaining & monitoring of SQL environment; liaising with the QA team to identify & fix bugs; security maintenance of database; establishing & adhering to formalised processes regarding incident handling, development, testing & deployment; and collaborating with data scientists & other architects on several projects. To apply you should have an Honours degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar coupled with a minimum of 10 years’ C# & SQL development and database administration experience. This should include experience as a data engineer; extensive knowledge of programming languages; and database security experience. You should understand and have actively used SOLID principles and design patterns; implemented Test Driven Development; and have experience in integrating disparate solutions across a multitude of technology stacks with an understanding of how to architect solutions that can scale horizontally, including multi-threading. They are looking to appoint an Architect level Data Engineer with solid understanding of and experience using C#, SQL, and RDBMS to join their dynamic consulting team and work on a combination of challenging business, technology, and finance projects. You will primarily architect, build and maintain data systems as well as provide technical support for a corporate client with a footprint all over Africa. This involves L1 – L3 support across multiple technologies including but not limited to incident investigation, remediation, bug fixing, new features and data modelling. You will get the opportunity to workshop new requirements, design, and spec new development across all clients. The role will also require you to architect data infrastructure where you will design and organize databases to fit the clients’ needs. Part of your role will be to drive and manage all communication with IT service departments.
