JOB TITLE: PROJECT ENGINEER 
 
WORK ACTIVITIES
Depots, Services Stations and Commercial Customer Installations- construction and engineering
· To conduct project feasibility studies for engineering and construction projects; preparing documentation, drawings and recommendation for execution of project
· To submit and obtain national and local authorities approvals and prepare and obtain approval for MOC documentation
· To guide the draughtsman or consultants in preparation of the construction drawings
· To participate in negotiation of equipment supply and engineering contracts with the service providers, in collaboration with the purchasing division
· To plan, organise, control and execute field construction activities, within given time and budget
· To be responsible for incorporation of local legislation requirements, Group standards and best practices for all engineering and construction projects
· To effectively monitor and evaluate variations associated with changes in project scope and subsequent cost changes
· To provide regular updates to Engineering Manager regarding the projects and providing explanations on any delay with regards to the projects.
· To ensure proper management of all projects documentation, preparation of monthly expenditure reports, posting of the assets under construction to assets register and control of all legal, municipal and EIA approvals to facilitate legal and safety compliance of all projects
HSEQ:
· To ensure all contractors adhere to all legislated and company HSEQ requirements
People management:
To effectively manage resources by applying the People Management principles with regards to Internal Stakeholder, Customers, Contractors and Consultants.
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
Activity: management of projects with the external resources such as contractors, suppliers of equipment, consultants and local authorities
Organisation: engineering is a service provider to operations and marketing departments
Legal and HSEQ: Local and Group regulations and standards to be complied with.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The jobholder is accountable for coordination and execution of allocated projects with use of internal and external resources. All the activities are driven to achieve key business objectives; conduct all work in the safe manner, adhere to local legislations and Group standards and adhere to all internal processes with implementation of efficient controls of people and resources.
KPI: Capex allocation against expenditure, duration of contract, project duration, project budget against actual cost.
PROFILE
Qualification B.Sc (Engineering) or B.Tech- Mechanical or Civil engineering
Experience in project management for engineering from start to completion
5 Years Experience in the Petrochemical Industry
Technical experience with regards to understanding and applying technical knowhow.
English is the working language
